Uniform Policy
E.A.A.P.A’s uniform policy aims to foster a sense of community, promote a positive learning environment, and ensure that all students present themselves in a manner conducive to academic and artistic excellence. Adherence to the uniform policy and guidelines helps maintain a sense of unity and school identity.
Academic Uniforms:
- Scholars are required to wear the designated academic and performing arts uniforms with the logo which can be purchased directly through the school.
- Appropriate Bottoms Length:
- Female scholars skirts, skorts, and dresses must not be shorter than mid-thigh length.
- Male scholars shorts should be no shorter than directly above their Knee caps
- Appropriate Shirt Fit:
- All scholars shirts should be long enough for the scholar to raise their hands without the shirt becoming untucked or revealing their mid-drift
- Female and Male scholars should have their shirts tucked in at all times.
- Female scholars must have shorts underneath their dresses and skirts.
- Male scholars must be wearing a belt at all times
- Socks: E.A.A.P.A gives their scholars total creative freedom with the color, style and length of their socks.
- Shoes: Shoes must be clean, well fitting, and in good condition.
- All academic uniforms should be well fitting and not tight, scholars should have free range of movement in their academic uniforms.
- All uniforms must be labeled with the scholar’s first and last name in permanent ink to prevent loss and confusion.
Performing Arts Uniforms:
- Please ensure all pieces of your scholars performing arts uniforms are labeled with their name to prevent loss or confusion.
- No jewelry, except small stud earrings
- Hair must be neatly put away into a ponytail
- All uniforms should be kept clean and in good repair
- Scholars must have all parts of their attire every day
- Female scholars must not have any large holes in their dance tights.
- Male scholars must wear their compression tights beneath their athletic shorts
- Male dancers must have black socks at all times for their dance shoes
- All dancers must have their ballet and jazz shoes with them at all times
- Scholars missing parts of their performing arts uniforms will be asked to sit out of class and receive a zero in participation for the day.
- Cleanliness: Scholars should arrive daily in uniforms that are clean, ironed, and in good repair.
- Hair: Hair must be groomed daily and styled appropriately for a neat and professional appearance. Hair colors should be natural and extreme styles should be avoided.
- Personal Hygiene: Scholars should maintain good personal hygiene.
- Accessories: Minimal and non-distracting jewelry is permitted. Large or excessive accessories are not allowed.
- Students must have all parts of their academic and performing arts attire and adhere to the presentation guidelines daily.
- Daily Wear: Uniforms must be worn daily in accordance with the specified guidelines.
- Uniforms must be clean, properly fitted, and in good condition.
- The only exception to wearing uniforms are non-uniform days outlined in the school calendar.
- Uniforms will be checked daily to ensure compliance with policies.
Noncompliance with the school uniform policy will be addressed according to the following procedures:
1. Initial Infraction: Verbal Reminder
Students who are found not adhering to the uniform policy or are missing pieces of their uniforms will receive a verbal reminder from a teacher or staff member. They will be asked to correct their uniform issue as soon as possible.
2. Repeated Infraction: Written Notice
If noncompliance continues, a written notice will be issued to the student and their parent or guardian. The notice will detail the specific uniform violations and the need for immediate correction.
3. Continued Noncompliance: Parent Conference:
A meeting with the student’s parent or guardian, and relevant school staff, will be scheduled to discuss ongoing uniform issues. Strategies for ensuring compliance will be outlined, and additional support may be provided.
4. Disciplinary Actions:
– If uniform issues persist despite previous steps, disciplinary actions may be implemented. This could include:
– Loss of privileges or participation in school activities
– Detention or additional school work
– Other appropriate measures as determined by school teachers and staff
5. Support and Resolution:
– The school will provide support and assistance to address any underlying issues contributing to noncompliance, such as financial difficulties or misunderstandings about the policy.
Requests for uniform exceptions due to medical or religious reasons must be submitted in writing to the school administration. Documentation may be required to support such requests.
The uniform policy is subject to updates and changes as needed. Any revisions will be communicated to families through official school channels, including the school website.
